Wuhan Novel Coronaviris (WN-CoV)
Do you have flu symptoms, a cough, sore throat or shortness of breath?
In the 14 days before your symptoms started, did you travel to or from WUHAN, HUBEU PROVINCE, CHINA. Or Have you had contact with a confirmed case of the Wuhan Novel Coronavirus (living in the same household/direct contact with the case or their body fluids/been within 2 meters of the case)
If the answer to these questions is yes,
Please DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY. PLEASE RING US ON 01202 897200 and ask to speak to your Doctor.
On 31 December 2019, the World Health Organisation was informed of a cluster of patients with pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan City, China. A novel virus has been identified as the cause. As of 22 January 2020 there had been 440 cases officially reported from mainland China, most in Wuhan City and 6 cases outside of China. These cases outside of China were diagnosed in travellers from Wuhan City.
If the infection is seen within the UK, it is most likely to occur in travellers that have recently returned from Wuhan City.
The latest guidance from Public Health England asks us to close any facilities that may have been used by patients who might be infected until further notice. Please help us keep the surgery open by ensuring that you do not attend if you have been in contact with someone with this virus or have travelled to or from Wuhan in China and have any respiratory illness symptoms, such as cough, sore throat, cold, flu symptoms or shortness of breath.
This is an evolving situation and information will be updated regularly.
Thank you 23 January
