Penny’s Hill Practice went live with an Electronic Prescription service. This has been successfully introduced nationwide. It will mean the surgery no longer has to issue a paper prescription if the patient wishes to collect medication from a pharmacy but instead will be able to prescribe medication using electronic messages to the pharmacy.
It is therefore, important for patients to tell us their nominated pharmacy:-

Friends & Family Test please see menu to complete the survey
Patients who use our services have, from time to time, had the opportunity to complete surveys in past years but the introduction of this new feedback gives patients the opportunity to provide quick and continuous feedback on their experiences.
The question within the feedback form asks if you would recommend the services that you have used and offers a range of responses. When combined with supplementay follow-up questions, the Friends & Family Test provides a mechanism to highlight both good and poor patient experience. This kind of feedback is key in helping us to improve the practice services and provide quality patient care.
The feedback forms will be made available for all patients to complete including Nursing Homes and housebound patients. All submissions will be anonymous.
Patients 75 years and over and named GPs
The NHS introduced a national requirement, for all patients of age 75 and over to have a named accountable GP. Fortunately at Penny's Hill practice the Partners believe this is good practice and have always worked with the personal list system, where patients see their usual GP, when booking an appointment . If you have forgotten who your doctor is please ask any member of staff who will be able to tell you. It will also be noted on any correspondence from the practice to you and appears as a message on the bottom of any prescriptions you receive.
A named GP or usual GP takes lead responsibility for ensuring that all appropriate services are delivered to patients and uses professional judgement and works with the relevant associated health and social care professionals to deliver a multidisciplinary care package that meets the need of the the patient.
The usual GP is responsible for the physical and psychological needs of the patient and ensures they are recognised and responded to by the relevant clinicians in practice.
When your usual GP is on leave, you will be invited to see the covering locum Dr as usual .
If you urgently need to order your repeat medication do not use the online ordering service as this will take longer to process. Please contact the surgery in the usual way to order your requirements. We can only accept requests for prescriptions by telephone from HOUSEBOUND PATIENTS. Please note Methotrexate cannot be ordered through the online ordering service - please contact the surgery direct to order.
