This is a voluntary group run by the patients for the patients. The aim of the group is to provide a visiting/driving service. The service is mainly visiting the housebound on a regular basis.
The transport is to take patients to appointments where hospital transport is not available. To fund this service we rely on donations from the patient. The group relies on dedicated volunteers to do this work, so we are always pleased to welcome new members even if you can only offer a few hours of your time.
The volunteer visitors drop in for a chat and a cup of tea with patients who may be lonely or housebound. There is no set time but a little time given on a regular basis is best.
Anyone who is interested or would like to know more about us, please contact the surgery for a leaflet.
At the end of the Patient Participation Group meeting on March 19th 2014 a presentation from the Friends of the practice was made to the surgery.
The FOP purchased the information Screen now situated in the waiting room of the surgery. This will contain current information for the benefit of the Patients of Paenny's Hill practice.
Members of the FOP shook hands with Dr Hamp who accepted the screen on behalf of the practice. A brass plaque confirming the screen was purchased with funds donated by the FOP was put in place.
